Exove

Exove was founded in Finland in 2006 as a company specializing in the design and development of open-source web services. Its founder was Janne Kalliola. Over time it grew into a digital company combining design, development and business expertise. Exove creates web services and online stores, handles integrations and brand and digital asset management, and automates publishing. For me, it was the first company where all-company meetings took place every two weeks and financial information was transparent to employees. It was great.

| ⭐️ Navigil | Navigil is a Finnish company founded in 2010 by Matti Räty that produces location-tracking devices for vehicles and people. This was a very long (>1 year) greenfield project. I implemented 90% of the web application and coordinated with other contributors. The application was covered by unit, integration and acceptance tests and used Jenkins, Git, CodeIgniter and Backbone. I discovered PHP daemons and binary-data processing through this project. |
| ⭐️ GolfGameBook | Golf-statistics recording system. Multiple client devices and complex scoring rules. Wrote integration tests and set up Jenkins automation. Documented the architecture, added Facebook integration and made various internal changes. |
| ⭐️ Planago | Family-budget planning with sophisticated charts. Completely refactored the frontend with Backbone, RequireJS and Less. Optimized loading and rendering for iPad and IE8+, with responsive design. |
| ⭐️ Postimees | Postimees is a local newspaper. Built an iPad application. Implemented JavaScript article processing that split articles into horizontal pages while handling sentence wrapping, images inside articles and screen-size changes such as rotation. |
